Under current legislation anyone involved in handling or preparing food is required to complete Basic Food Hygiene training. This Basic Food Hygiene course is ideal for Social Care staff or those working in a crèche, nursing home or in children’s residential care. It is designed to give food handlers an understanding of the causes of food poisoning and the knowledge to prevent food contamination from occurring.

Course Content

This Basic Food Hygiene course will be tailored to suit the business with an informal approach to ensure involvement and discussion from all participants and will include the following topics

  • Food Hygiene
  • Food poisoning & bacteria
  • Food delivery & storage
  • Food handling, preparation and cooking
  • Personal hygiene
  • Pest control
  • Cleaning
  • HACCP Awareness (Hazard Analysis and Monitoring)

Course duration: 3.5 hours approx

Certification:  A Basic Food Safety Certificate will be issued to all participants
