First Aid Responder (FAR) three-day certified course is the NEW Health and Safety Authority standard for first aid at work. It is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide emergency first aid should the need arise.

As and from the 1st June 2018 the Health & Safety Authority will only recognise this PHECC First Aid Response Education and Training Standard (FAR) as meeting the needs of Occupational First Aid in all workplaces.

Overview: 

The objective of FAR is to improve and replace the current Occupational First Aid course. FAR also includes the full PHECC Cardiac First Response Community Standard. 

We are now providing in-house training, and public courses. We will call to your business, creche, school or site to deliver this course. 

Please Note that participants holding a current QQI Occupational First Aid certificate will automatically migrate over to the new First Aid Response Course or FAR and receive the PHECC FAR certification. Click HERE for more details on our FAR refresher course.

Certification: The participants will receive a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) First Aid Response Certificate which is valid for 2 years. The two day refresher course must then be completed to recertify. This refresher course must be completed within 30 days of the cert expiry.

All NB Training Services instructors delivering this course are Cardiac First Response Instructors registered with the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council, First Aid Response Instructors registered with PHECC and hold a QQI trainers award for delivery of Occupational First Aid. They have vast experience in the delivery of First Aid training in the workplace.

This course is run to current Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council education and training standards and current HSA standards.
